Annual Open Painting Retreat

July 7-8, 2023
Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Offered since 2003, the Annual Open Painting Retreat is a time for informal creativity at the Lake – for independent painting, to receive a bit of painting guidance, or to engage in other creative endeavors.  Students enjoy the use of Mr. Graves’ private painting studio and/or the many outdoor venues around the Lake’s numerous forested, old-growth trails, as each guest prefers.

Arupa Richardson, art instructor and arts advocate, has organized the open painting retreat opportunities on behalf of the foundation’s mission to publicly invite and host local and regional artists to pursue creativity within the Lake’s spectacular, intimate, protected, and deeply quiet ambiance.

MORRIS GRAVES FOUNDATION trustees, Robert and Desiree Yarber, extend their heartfelt gratitude to Arupa, and her predecessor Cat McAdams, for their dedicated time required to organize these unique and significant opportunities on behalf of the foundation’s mission to provide this retreat opportunity to the public.  Further, the Yarbers greatly appreciate the countless dedicated and enthusiastic artists who visit the Lake and nurture it with their creative energies, making it a part of their lives.
